Celebrating Every Mom's Journey: Meet Diana Lee

Celebrating Every Mom's Journey: Meet Diana Lee

INTRODUCING

Name: Diana Lee

How many kids do you have: 1 daughter

Q: Describe your motherhood style journey

A:  My journey through motherhood has been a rollercoaster ride, marked by numerous highs and lows as I navigated the various roles in my life - as a mother, a wife, a career woman, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. Despite the challenges and uncharted territories, I've emerged as a stronger and more fulfilled version of myself. I take great pride in this personal growth.

Alongside my personal evolution, my fashion sense has also undergone significant changes. Initially, my style transitioned from a classic adventurer to minimalist comfort as I grappled with the demands of early motherhood. During those initial months, comfort was paramount, and my wardrobe mainly consisted of robes, maternity tights, and cozy t-shirts.

In the subsequent period, comfort remained a priority as I focused on navigating the demands of motherhood. However, as I recently returned to the office, I've begun investing in timeless yet comfortable pieces suitable for everyday wear. This includes essentials such as the A Million Lilies shirt dress, a classic white collar button-down, straight black jeans, brown leather ballet flats, and an oversized trench coat.

This shift represents a return to wholeness for both myself and my fashion choices. I'm eagerly anticipating the journey ahead and the opportunities it holds.

Despite the challenges and uncharted territories, I've emerged as a stronger and more fulfilled version of myself. I take great pride in this personal growth.

Q: What have you learned about your style over time?

A: Over time, I've learned that my style is a reflection of my evolving life experiences and priorities. Initially, I gravitated towards classic adventurer looks, embracing versatility and functionality. Ultimately, my style journey has taught me the value of adaptability and authenticity, allowing me to express myself with confidence while embracing the ever-changing demands of life.

Q: What's your style like now?

A: Depending on the persona I aim to embody, my fashion choices vary. I can transition from a laid-back minimalist aesthetic featuring an oversized trench coat, a white t-shirt, straight-leg jeans, and red Nike Dunks to a more polished look with an oversized black blazer, a white shirt, black jeans, and ballet flats. Conversely, I might opt for oversized sweatpants paired with a relaxed shirt and hoodie for a comfortable, casual vibe.

Q: What clothing makes you feel very confident?

A: I find my confidence peaks when I'm in my weekend uniform: an oversized trench coat paired with jeans, a white t-shirt, Nike dunks, and my Atlanta Braves cap.

Q: If you could celebrate yourself for one thing, what would it be?

A: It would be for the journey of rediscovery and self-awareness. Through the challenges and joys of motherhood, I've found a deeper understanding and appreciation of who I am. I feel more grounded and confident in my identity, and I'm excited about the future as this newfound version of myself.

Q: What is one triumph in motherhood you’ve experienced?

A: One significant triumph is my evolution into a stronger, more resilient version of myself amidst the various challenges I've faced. From the physical demands of breastfeeding and pumping to the emotional journey of rediscovering myself as a wife and readjusting priorities as a career woman, navigating these obstacles has been daunting. However, through perseverance and determination, I've unearthed a newfound strength within me, leading to personal growth and enhanced resilience.

Witnessing the love and happiness of my child, reflecting my growth and resilience, fills me with profound gratitude and pride.

Q: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

A: It would be to give myself grace and ask for help when needed. Parenting is a challenging journey, and it's okay to acknowledge that you don't have to do it all alone. Embrace imperfection, be kind to yourself, and lean on your support network. Remember that seeking assistance doesn't signify weakness but rather strength in recognizing your limitations and prioritizing your well-being, ultimately benefiting both you and your children.

Q: If you could describe yourself as a mom in one word, what would it be?

A: Dedicated

Every month, we highlight a mom from the A Million Lilies community to discuss motherhood. Because, amidst the struggles of taking care of our children, we feel the most seen and supported after speaking to a fellow #momfriend. We hope sharing stories of women like us can help encourage other moms in their stage of motherhood too. If you want to share your motherhood story with us, please contact us at hello@amlilies.com
